Nala used to live in a dirty, trash-filled backyard in Detroit where she was rescued. The pitbull was only 5 months old during that time but she had spent her entire life living outside. Her previous owner never allowed the pup to go inside the house.
The rescued pup only wanted love, so when she was adopted, her new family was determined to give her all of it.
Her rescuer brought her to a vet because she was very thin and dirty. She was also found to have worms. Despite being in rough shape, her sweet nature never left her.
Rescued dogs who come from terrible situations are often scared of people, but Nala looked thrilled and grateful that someone is finally taking care of her.
Charley Walton, Nala’s new mom wondered how she would react when they brought her home since it was likely her first time ever really getting to be inside a house. But Nala made herself right at home.
“Nala’s tail goes crazy when she’s happy,” Charley told The Dodo. “It’s the first giveaway. She was so excited. She didn’t seem nervous or sad. Literally pure happiness.”
Nala didn’t have anywhere soft to sleep and rest because she was sleeping on the ground. That’s why her new family made sure she has the coziest bed.
“You could just see the look on her face that she was so comfy and happy to have her own bed,” Charley said. “Right away she stretched out.”
On her first night in the house, Nala left her bed and transferred to her new parents’ bed. She realized she loves to be cuddled so she now sleeps in her parents’ bed every night.
“She’s spoiled rotten with love now,” Charley said.
Nala has found her forever home. She’s been with her new family for several months now. She loves to snuggle and cuddle with her parents, play with her baby sister and run around and get into trouble with her dog sibling.
And she never forgets to show how grateful she is for all that she has now.
