  • A family designed a custom aquarium for their Siamese cat, Jasper, who loves watching fish.
  • The new fish tank has a special viewing window under it.
  • Jasper and his sister Willow can now get a close up look under water.

Jasper the Siamese cat is very fascinated with her mom’s exotic fish. He used to watch the pets swimming inside the aquarium from a dining room chair.

According to Jasper’s mom, Melissa Krieger, the intrigued feline used to spend hours watching the fish.

Now, Jasper is living the dream after Melissa spent $2,500 for a new aquarium specifically designed for his viewing pleasure.

Jasper now enjoys being up close to the exotic fish.

Melissa and her fish supplier Jason Hering made a plan to build a ‘mini SeaWorld’ last year so three-year-old Jasper can feel like he’s underwater too.

“Jason was laughing at Jasper watching the tank and I thought it’d be funny to make something like at the children’s aquariums where you stick your head up – that was the inspiration,” Melissa shared.

Jasper’s mom shared an adorable video of Jasper sitting upright on a cushion beneath the 125-gallon tank acrylic tank with his head poking up into a cube-shaped viewing chamber. The video, which was uploaded on Facebook last month, garnered more than 10 million views.

Melissa said Jasper and her sister Willow were a bit anxious at first but now use the hatch every day.

‘It’s great to see him so happy because you’ve got to stimulate their brains. It’s definitely been worth the money,’ Melissa said. “You spend that much on a TV and this is like a TV for cats. As soon as we feed the fish, he comes running. He’s living the dream.”

Melissa’s aquarium holds parrotfish, angelfish, cory catfish, and a spotted plecostomus, along with other tropical fish from Jason’s business Aquatics and Exotics. In the footage shared on Facebook, the fish don’t seem to be bothered being watched by Jasper.
