Instacart delivery driver Jessica Higgs shared how going with a gut decision helped her save a couple of lives.

The Georgia mom shared her experience in a now-viral TikTok video.

She said that the customer instructed her to leave the grocery bags on his porch. But when she got there, something told her that the man needed her help.

“You’re not supposed to go inside someone’s house,” she shared. “But I used my judgment and I brought the groceries inside.”

It was then that she noticed that the man was not well. Something was definitely off, so she couldn’t bear to leave.

Jessica decided to message the man’s daughter, telling her that he “looked sick.” She also said that she spotted a propane tank, which she suspects might have a gas leak since she had started to feel dizzy.

The woman said that she would have her son stop by.

Jessica saw the woman’s comment in the morning, which read, “Thank you so much. Once my son went to check on my dad it turned out it definitely was leaking, you definitely saved my dad and my younger son’s life!!!”

She had also changed Jessica’s tip from $14 to $100.

Jessica couldn’t help but get overwhelmed with emotion when she found out that she had helped save someone’s life.

“I’m just an Instacart worker,” she said. “But if you see something, say something. I’m so happy I did.”

Jessica received praise from several people, including celebrities Bella Hadid and Dove Cameron.

Dove found Jessica’s story moving, and said, “I’m so grateful that you exist.”

“You are not ‘just an insta cart worker’!!!!!!” Bella commented. “U R helping people every single day in ways u probably don’t even know ❤️????Thank U for being U!!!!!!❤️.”

An Instacart representative also praised her actions.

They told TODAY Food, “We are constantly inspired by the incredible people who choose to be Instacart shoppers and intentionally make a positive impact in the lives of others. This story touched our hearts and we are grateful for shoppers like Jessica.”
