Jaden Smith was about to celebrate his milestone 21st birthday, and he chose to give back to his city.
He set up a free food truck to feed the homeless people in Los Angeles.
Smith opened the I Love You Restaurant on Sunday in the downtown L.A. neighborhood of Skid Row, just a day before his birthday.
The rapper shared his shop’s operations in an Instagram post, saying, “The @ILoveYouRestaurant Is A Movement That Is All About Giving People What They Deserve, Healthy, Vegan Food For Free. Today We Launched Our First One Day Food Truck Pop-Up in Downtown LA. Keep A Look Out Because This Is The First Of Many #JADENinc.”

The homeless population in Los Angeles is approximately 50,000, as reported by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority.
Several celebrities and organizations praised Smith’s initiative.
Comedian Kevin Hart commented, “This is so dope… I love what you are doing man.”
PETA also commended Smith, saying, “Love this so much, you’re helping change the world for humans and animals.”
Smith has previously participated in charitable activities.
Last week, he took part in Shia LaBeouf’s fundraiser to support the arts.
Smith also launched a water company called JUST water, which installed a filtration system in Flint, Michigan. Four more systems are planned for installation soon.
His music and entertainment career is also not slowing down.
Smith recently dropped a surprise new album ERYS, which also features A$AP Rocky, Kid Cudi, Trinidad James, and Smith’s younger sister Willow. He will soon be going on tour with Tyler, The Creator.
Smith also has an upcoming TV show, Omniverse, where he will play a younger version of Kanye West. The show is currently in development on Showtime network.
