  • The Turner Twins soar to new heights, setting a world record over the French Alps.
  • Months of waiting paid off with perfect weather and a smooth flight.
  • Adventure is in their DNA, with achievements like rowing the Atlantic and cycling across continents.

The Turner Twins, Ross and Hugo, have once again pushed the boundaries of adventure by setting a new world record. This time, they flew a tandem electric para-motor to an impressive 8,000 feet over the stunning French Alps.

Residing in Devon, England, the twins are no strangers to breaking records. They were the first twins to row across the Atlantic Ocean. Their latest feat has been submitted to the World Air Sports Federation (FAI) for recognition. Achieving this record was no easy task. The twins had to wait for the “perfect weather conditions” to ensure a successful flight. Hugo shared, “It was great to get the weather we finally needed for the record and having waited months for perfect conditions we had the perfect flight.”

The flight was surprisingly smooth, contrary to their expectations of turbulence. Additionally, the cooler temperatures helped extend the battery life of their aircraft. Ross recounted the skepticism they faced, mentioning that their official observer doubted the electric battery’s capability. “He said we won’t have enough power, this won’t work. Thankfully, we proved him wrong.”

The twins’ passion for exploration was ignited after a life-changing auto accident in which Hugo narrowly escaped paralysis at age 17. This event fueled their desire to embark on daring adventures together. At the age of 21, they made headlines by rowing the Atlantic in just 41 days, setting a world record as the youngest crew to complete the challenge. Their adventurous spirit has taken them to the summit of Mt. Elbrus and across 1,550 miles of South American terrain, navigating deserts and jungles. They have also cycled 2.6K across North America, conquering mountains, deserts, and national parks.
