  • A 79-year-old husband learned how to do hair and makeup in a beauty college to help his wife with failing vision.
  • He values his wife’s self-love beauty care as it’s very important for her.
  • After learning his new skills, the husband, together with his wife, visited the school to thank everyone.

If you’re wondering what the epitome of long-term marriage is, this could be it.

Last week, a 79-year-old man from Alberta, Canada, who has preferred to remain anonymous, visited a beauty school for a hair and makeup lesson so he could help his “beautiful” wife with it.

His wife of 50 years has failing eyesight, giving her a difficult time to do it herself. Delmar College of Hair and Esthetics director Carrie Hannah told SWNS that her appearance is “important for her” and something she takes pride in.

“Her appearance has always been something she has taken pride in and it’s important to her so therefore important to him,” Carrie said.

So, the loving husband first learned how to curl hair so his wife would no longer burn her skin from doing it. Delmar College taught him with a student and mannequin. After going through it, the 79-year-old husband asked for tips on how to apply mascara on his wife.

“He also asked for tips on applying mascara because that task was hard for her also, so we gave him a makeup lesson too!” Carrie told SWNS. “He spent about an hour with us for lessons on curling iron sets and mascara application.”

It was not every day that the staff encountered a student like this exceptional husband. For them, it was very heart warming, something that had them “in tears.”

“He lovingly pulled pictures from his wallet, showing everyone his wife, and boasting about how beautiful she has always been and how talented she was with skill set of typing over 100 words a minute when she was working,” Carrie told the outlet.

“He is turning 80 in May, and I think he is also a very brave man for stepping into a hair college and asking for lessons on styling hair. I don’t think too many men would do that,” the beauty school director told SWNS.

To thank everyone in the beauty college, the husband later on returned, this time with his wife — whose hair, according to Carrie, was actually “looking great!”
