Mary Ann Wakefield, 84, has been a regular audience member at Ole Miss athletic events. But she never dreamed that she will one day go home from one of their games with a brand new car.

It was in a recent match against the University of Alabama when she was given an opportunity to compete in a seemingly impossible challenge.

Decked out in Ole Miss gear, Mary Ann got to the court to try it out.

Her objective was to putt a golf ball into a tiny hole that was 94 feet away. It almost seemed impossible — but this did not discourage her at all!

Mary Ann seemed calm and collected as she got into position and gave it her best shot.

And it was incredible! Her shot was so straight that her golf ball had no trouble finding its way right into the small goal!

The surprised Mary Ann was cheered on wildly by the entire crowd, and the university’s mascot ran over to give her a congratulatory hug.

It would seem that Mary Ann missed her true calling as a professional golfer!

After quickly becoming a viral sensation, Mary Ann expressed her surprise on Facebook: “Not in my WILDEST dreams would I imagine the coverage my putt would get on Facebook, Twitter, and international news channels.”
