  • A young mom’s attempt to win a plush toy for her two-year-old daughter led to a heartwarming interaction with a sweet boy in restaurant.
  • After failing three times, Sophie Crehan gave up and let a young boy have a go instead.
  • To her surprise, the boy followed her and give her the purple toy, saying: “I’ve just won it for your little girl.”

A 24-year-old mother said she was left “tearing up” after a young boy’s kind gesture in a restaurant.

Sophie Crehan was in the Lymewood Farm restaurant in Haydock, England on a Sunday afternoon with her two kids —five-year-old George, and two-year-old Florence — for a roast dinner as a weekend treat.

Sophie, from St Helens, told the ECHO : “They have a little children’s play area in there. I was on the grabbing machines and I was trying to win my little girl this pink and purple teddy that she really wanted.

Sadly, after trying three times, Sophie couldn’t grab the plush purple toy she wanted to win for Florence.

Then, she noticed a little boy standing next to her watching her play. She turned to him and say: “It’s your turn now, you can have a go.”

Sophie came back to the table to eat with her two children when shortly after, the young boy came over, presented her the plush toy and said ‘I’ve just won it for your little girl’.

Sophie’s jaw dropped. She was surprised she wasn’t able to respond immediately.

She told the boy: “You don’t need to do that, and he said ‘No no, I’ve won it” and insisted he won it for the two-year-old girl.

“I was nearly in tears it was such a nice thing to do,” Sophie said.

Sophie said the generous boy was around 10 years old.

She followed him back to his table where he was sat with his parents and took £2 out of her purse. Sophie gave it to the boy who gladly accepted it. He said: “Thanks very much.”

The boy’s confused parents asked ‘what’s happened?’

So Sophie explained what had happened and said ‘he’s a lovely little boy’.”

The boy’s nice gesture has made Florence so happy, and she has been taking the toy to bed with her ever since.
