Quick Smiles:

  • A devoted father donates his kidney to save a young girl’s life.
  • Andy Emmott honors his late daughter through selfless giving.
  • A small charity brings joy during challenging times.

In a touching act of generosity, Andy Emmott stepped forward to donate his kidney to 11-year-old Amber, a girl who reminded him of his own daughter, Sarah.

Sarah, who battled congenital nephrotic syndrome, passed away despite receiving a kidney transplant after a courageous campaign for a donor.

Emmott shared, “I donated a kidney because a kind stranger donated one to my daughter.”

He felt an immediate connection to Amber, noting the similarities between her and Sarah’s stories.

When he saw the appeal for Amber, he knew he had to act.

Fortunately, he was a perfect match.

After the surgery, Emmott returned to his role at Northern Powergrid, focusing on office duties while he recuperates.

His manager, Amanda White, voiced her admiration, saying, “I am scared stiff to donate blood, so to donate a kidney is amazing.”

The team at Northern Powergrid stands in awe of Andy’s courage and wishes both him and Amber a swift recovery.

In memory of Sarah, Andy has been tirelessly raising funds for Theodora Children’s Charity.

This organization supported Sarah during her numerous hospital stays, bringing much-needed joy and laughter.

Emmott emphasized, “They are a small charity and don’t get as much support for the work that they do, having to compete with bigger well-known charities so any donations are much appreciated.”

For those inspired by this tale of kindness, donations are welcomed to continue the charity’s uplifting work.
