An abandoned dog, discovered tied to a park entrance with nothing but a note, found kindness in the perfect person at the perfect time.

Erica Loring, an experienced foster, heard from a neighbor about the pup left at the local park and went to help. When she arrived, Juniper greeted her happily, his tail wagging and eager for affection.

The note with him read:

“Just got him and it was too much for me. Nice dog. Can’t keep him and the original owner doesn’t want him back. Please help.”

Loring wasted no time and brought Juniper to her car, noticing how excited he was for a new beginning. In her June 27 Instagram video for @super_scooty, she shared how Juniper seemed thrilled to ride in the car, as if he sensed a brighter future ahead.

With no immediate foster available, Loring took Juniper to the San Diego Humane Society, knowing it was one of the best no-kill shelters around. She explained, “I knew the SD Humane Society is the best-possible no-kill shelter in the country. We have an amazing program here. I dropped him off, but I went to visit him every day.”

Loring made daily visits, showering Juniper with treats, cuddles, and encouragement, sharing his journey through daily videos. Her dedication paid off: soon, seven families showed interest in giving him a forever home.

One family adopted another pup, opening up a foster space for Juniper after his stray hold ended. Loring recalled, “Because the families came from various areas of the country, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, northern California, etc., we didn’t know how long it would take to actually get people to come visit him. We decided to foster him while we figure out who was the perfect home for him.”

In just a week, Juniper found his forever family. His new family absolutely adores him and can’t get enough of his big personality. Juniper and the family’s child quickly became inseparable best friends, starting a beautiful new chapter together.

The heartwarming Instagram video has touched nearly 1 million viewers, who celebrated Loring’s compassion and determination. Messages of support poured in, including: “Glad you took that horrible collar off he was left with.” Another shared, “I’m sick of this world. What a sweet boy. I wish I could take all the animals.” A third viewer wrote, “Can you imagine if someone tied up a baby to a tree and left a note? To me, it’s literally the same thing.”
