Adoption Center’s “Naughty and Nice” Cats List Spreads Joy And Even Encourages Adoption
- Heaven On Earth Perry’s Place Adoption Center in California posts their naughty and nice pets on their board and on social media.
- The weekly posting has captured the attention of netizens as they find joy in it and even brought in adoptions for the center’s animals.
- Those who became the center’s naughty cat for the week have the chance to restore their reputation and be nice cats for the week, too!
The Heaven on Earth’s Perry’s Place Adoption Center in North Hollywood, California has adopted Pot Roast’s Mom on TikTok’s good and bad pets of the week.
The “Naughty and Nice Cats of the Week” on a board in their adoption center started in March this year. Photos of the featured cats and the reason for them being nice or naughty are posted on the board and on social media, according to Toni Barrett, the development manager at Heaven on Earth — and it’s a hit! People cannot get enough of them.
The posts have brought smiles to people’s faces and helped in finding forever homes for the cats at the center. It also became a fun activity for the staff as they became a part of the process of choosing who’s going to be on the list and seeing the changes in the cats.
But those who get to be on the naughty list have the chance to redeem themselves and end up on the nice list.
The most popular post so far was on Elijah and Popsicle. Elijah was the ‘nice cat of the week’ because he started asking for belly rubs when he finally warmed up to the staff. Popsicle on the other hand was naughty because he stole his blind roommate Daniel’s treats.
Barrett said, “Personally, I like the redemption arcs. We’ve had a couple cats listed as ‘naughty’ and a couple weeks later they will redeem themselves and be on the nice list.”
Just like when Felix first landed on the naughty list and the reason just read: “He knows what he did.”. But he redeemed himself when he excelled at his harness training earning him the nice cat of the week title.
There was a time when everyone was so nice that no one ended up on the naughty list. But one week, there was an opossum who stayed briefly and became the naughty winner.
No matter who gets the title for being naughty or nice, they certainly captured the attention of people who might just give the cats a forever home.
So always be good, fur babies!
