  • When foster mom Dee took in Mommy Emi and her seven puppies, she could see their close bond.
  • The puppies always slept together in a big snuggle pile even when they already outgrew their crate.
  • Dee got them another crate to give them more space, but they still insisted on squeezing themselves in their original crate.

Emi’s family lives in a remote community that lacked access to a vet clinic. So when she got pregnant, they sought help from the non-profit Northern Critters In Need.

She and her puppies were then taken in by foster mom Dee Marie from northwestern Ontario.

Dee shared that they decided to get the puppies acclimated to being in a crate so they would see it as a calm place of rest. The puppies quickly understood and began sleeping together in a big pile.

Dee quickly realized that the family had a very close bond.

Mommy Emi made sure she was always near her puppies, who each has their own unique personality. Aang is the pack leader who is “incredibly vocal and confident.” The other puppies would sit behind him every morning to await their orders.

But while the puppies indeed spent time in the extra crate, all of them kept on sleeping together in the original one.

Dee shared, “Despite having the extra room, they’d just keep cramming themselves into the one crate. Who can blame them, though? It’s the ultimate snuggle puddle!”

The puppies have since tripled in size since they first slept in their original crate. But they still squeeze themselves in so they can all sleep together, like “furry little sardines,” Dee shared.

Now at 9 weeks old, the puppies are ready for adoption.

When six of the puppies find their forever families, Mommy Emi will be spayed and returned to her original family. She will be joined by one of her puppies, pack leader Aang.

Foster mom Dee said, “I’m glad she will be able to keep one of her pups as a best friend for life.”
