Arnold Schwarzenegger Introduces the World to His Adorable New Pet Pig
Quick Smiles:
- Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former California governor and Hollywood star, has welcomed a new pet pig, Schnelly, into his unique family that includes a donkey, a miniature horse, and a dog.
- The pig’s name, ‘Schnelly’, comes from the German word “schnell,” meaning “fast,” and reportedly, the pig lives up to his name with quick movement.
- This isn’t Schwarzenegger’s first pet pig; inspired by his ‘Batman & Robin’ co-star George Clooney, who had a pet pig named Max, Arnold previously owned a pig that unexpectedly grew to a hefty 300 pounds.
In news that’ll have you oinking with delight, Arnold Schwarzenegger, former California governor and Hollywood icon, has a new pet to add to his unique family – and it’s a pig!
No, this isn’t a sequel to ‘Babe’ or ‘Charlotte’s Web’; it’s the real-life adventures of Arnold and his piglet, Schnelly Schwarzenegger.
The name ‘Schnelly’ comes from the German word “schnell,” which means “fast,” according to FOX 11. If you’re wondering about the relevance, well, apparently Schnelly lives up to his name and is pretty quick on his trotters!
Arnold, 75, first discussed Schnelly during a sit-down with FOX 11’s Elex Michaelson for The Issue Is. The Austria native mentioned that the piglet is fitting in quite well with the rest of his unconventional pet family that includes a donkey, a miniature horse, and a dog.
Now that’s a cast of characters that could give any Disney movie a run for its money!
If you’re thinking that Arnold’s choice of pet is a bit on the peculiar side, you’d be wrong. This isn’t the first time the ‘Terminator’ actor has had a pet pig.
While promoting his movie ‘Sabotage’, Arnold shared a fun tidbit about his ‘Batman & Robin’ co-star George Clooney, who also had a pet pig named Max back in 2014.
“I always liked that he was into pigs; he has this little pig that he takes everywhere,” Schwarzenegger recounted, as reported by The Columbus Dispatch. Inspired by Clooney, Arnold decided to get a pig of his own. “So I bought a pig right after that,” he said.
However, things didn’t quite go as planned for Arnold. His piggy purchase turned out to be a little more than he bargained for.
“Only thing is, I must’ve bought the wrong one because, in no time, it was 300 pounds and I could barely lift the son of a gun,” the actor admitted with a chuckle.
Hopefully, Schnelly will remain a manageable size and continue to bring joy to Arnold and his eclectic band of pets.
In the end, it just goes to show that you can take the man out of the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the man!
Here’s to many happy and “fast” adventures with Schnelly Schwarzenegger!
