  • Mackenzie has lost her eyesight when she was still young.
  • Despite her disability, she remains an active pup who plays like a normal dog.
  • Her most anticipated time of the year is winter — and she just couldn’t get enough of it!

This special pup doesn’t let her blindness stop her from enjoying life.

Mackenzie, a young friendly husky, was brought home by Mandy Leung when she was only 10 weeks old. Her right eye was then already blind due to glaucoma and a month later, she also lost her left eye.

Her mom Mandy proudly said that Mackenzie has learned to adapt at such a young age, which made her “a very confident girl.” Her Instagram post continued, “She gets around new places just fine and can play fetch like a normal dog!”

She also loves playing with her friends in the park and going on long walks. A sweet dog as she is, Mackenzie would often snuggle with Mandy.

“I even forget that’s she’s blind sometimes because she stares right into my eyes when she looks at me,” the proud fur mom added.

In an interview with The Dodo, Mandy said that “Mackenzie is very quiet at home but she is very silly and mischievous outside. She is the [friendliest] pup and has never met anyone she doesn’t like.”

Of all the wonderful things Mackenzie enjoys doing, her favorite thing is snow. She anticipates winter all year round and just couldn’t contain her happiness when she starts feeling snowflakes touching down her skin.

Although she couldn’t see the snow, she enjoys it more than anyone else. She would dance and jump around, looking so high-spirited that her favorite season has finally arrived.

“Snow is one of her favorite things and she never wants to come inside if there is snow outside,” Mandy said.

As long as her mom allows her to play outside, Mackenzie would gleefully stay outdoors.

Although she has lost her sense of sight, the happy pup could perfectly sense her environment with hearing, smelling and touching — and she makes the most out of every feeling.
