  • A wedding is certainly not the same without all your loved ones gathered together.
  • Natalie’s grandfather suffered a stroke two weeks before her big day and was heartbroken that he couldn’t attend.
  • So, a month after her wedding, Natalie traveled 800 miles to her grandfather’s home, put on her wedding dress, and danced with him in his living room.

The 24-year-old from Virginia was excited for the big event, but she was saddened that her grandpa, 94-year-old Nelson May, couldn’t attend.

Nelson had suffered a stroke two weeks before Natalie’s wedding, which left him unable to travel from his Florida home.

Nelson was heartbroken that medical issues prevented him from getting to dance with his granddaughter on her wedding. So Natalie made sure to bring the wedding to him!

A month after her wedding day, Natalie got a plane ticket to fly to Florida. She packed her wedding dress into a pink garment bag and even did her makeup at the airport.

My sweet grandpa was so excited to dance with me at my wedding and was heartbroken when he found out two weeks prior that medical issues prevented him from coming. So… we brought the wedding to him :’) Just some #goodnews for your timeline today.Posted by Natalie Browning on Monday, August 2, 2021

She shared her journey in a Facebook video, where she and her grandfather are seen enjoying their “first dance” together in his living room.

Natalie shared, “For months he’d been so excited to dance with me on my wedding night and I’m just so happy that I was able to give him that experience. I don’t get to see him very often so it truly was a special day.”

Natalie’s 800-mile journey was certainly worth it! Nelson definitely felt just how much he meant to his granddaughter.
