Chilling out during the summer heat just got more fun for Titan, an Alaskan malamute, thanks to his devoted owner, Johnny from California.

Johnny, an ardent dog lover, has been saving huskies and malamutes from kill shelters for years and providing them with luxe lives.

His latest act of canine kindness involves constructing an air-conditioned doghouse for his big fur baby, Titan.

“He’s a large Alaskan malamute and he gets very hot, so during the summer we would have to make our house 60 degrees in order to keep him comfortable. Obviously, that’s not feasible for us, so I built him this air-conditioned doghouse instead,” said Johnny.

The cool crib now maintains a steady 53 degrees Fahrenheit regardless of the blistering heat outside in Santa Clarita.

Alaskan malamutes, originally bred as Arctic sled dogs, certainly have a penchant for the cold. As Johnny noted, it’s essential to ensure their comfort and health during sweltering summers.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) echoes these sentiments, suggesting limiting strenuous activities whenever temperatures rise above 70 degrees and providing them with cold spaces to chill in.

Titan, or “DogTor” as he’s known to millions of people around the globe, had a rough start in life due to improper breeding, resulting in health issues. But thanks to Johnny’s dogged determination, Titan now enjoys days filled with more than just a cool breeze.

“Titan is a rescue… He is always sick, so the joke is that he’s at the hospital more than the doctors are, that’s how we got to the name DogTor,” Johnny shared.

A video showcasing Titan’s new cooling spot on Johnny’s TikTok account (@manwith2dogs) took the internet by storm.

The adorable peek into Titan’s air-conditioned comfort zone garnered over 2 million views and 100,000 likes, with hundreds praising Johnny’s efforts.
