Bertie the cat has become beloved to the online community after several pictures showed him making the saddest expressions over being “excluded from dinner.”

Bertie’s owner, K. Cooper, said that the lovable cat has been staying with her parents while she’ in the process of moving. She has been missing him terribly, so they decided to send her regular updates and photos.

It soon became a habit of his dad to send her daily photos of Bertie looking wistfully at the dinner table.

“My parents keep sending me photographs of my cat looking upset that he is excluded from dinner,” Cooper wrote on Twitter.

Cooper explained, “I usually don’t let him near me when I eat so they’re getting him in bad habits! He has IBS so isn’t allowed any human foods or treats. But he just has a very expressive face, bless him.”

Bertie has been staying with his grandparents since November and will be reunited with his mom in March.

The online community can’t get enough of his wistful expressions! Bertie even looks sad when staring at the forbidden wine, causing many people to relate.

When Cooper told her dad that his photos have gone viral, “he made him up a special plate tonight.”

The photos showed Bertie in front of a plate with treats that spelled out he word “cat.”

Poor Bertie! He just wants a taste of some of that delicious food!
