Catherine O’Hara, cherished for her comedic brilliance from “Beetlejuice” to “Schitt’s Creek” and “The Studio,” has passed away at 71 after a brief illness. Her groundbreaking performances made her a beloved figure in television and film, earning her numerous accolades.
O’Hara’s Emmy-winning turn as Moira Rose had fans delighted by her unique flair and memorable accent.
“The accent was kind of up to me,” she shared in a 2024 interview. “The accents, I should say. When people try to imitate that character, the mistake most people make is to be consistent.”
Her talents spanned comedy and drama, with recent Emmy nominations for “The Studio” and her dramatic role in “The Last of Us.”
Pedro Pascal honored her memory, writing,
