Stories of spreading joy and love always lift the spirits of everyone.

A Chick-fil-A employee in Appleton, Wisconsin won a car in their company’s annual party raffle and handed it over to a coworker.  What made 17-year-old Haley Bridges do the deed? And what made the recipient, Hokule’a Taniguchi, special?

Haley explained, “She’s one of the people here that has made me be myself more and I just feel so happy being around her, and it was just an immediate decision to give her a car because she probably needs it more than anyone I know.”

Haley credits Hokule’a for helping her come out of her shell.

From the time that they started working together, Hokule’a has been coming to work on her bike through all kinds of Wisconsin weather.

The generous, unexpected gift and act of kindness has them both overjoyed.

Hokule’a was shocked and could not believe it. “I screamed and I ran to her and I was just like… My heart felt so full and I was so excited, and then obviously I was so happy I just started crying my eyes out,” she said.

For Hokule’a, this means keeping out of the cold, freedom, and the ability to offer someone else a ride.

For their part, the Chick-fil-A management supports the gesture by working to get Hokule’a name put on the title. Her bicycle is retiring for good!

Sami Hansen, the director of hospitality and quality at the Appleton Chick-fil-A says that Haley is a fun person to be around and jives well with everyone. “And Hokule’a just serves everyone with excellence and has really been able to build some strong friendships and memories with everyone as well,” she added.

Thanks, Haley and Hokule’a for showing the world how it is to spread love and joy!
