Chunky Dog Goes “Uh-Oh” When He Breaks The Doggy Door

• Drax was a stray who got adopted by Charmaine Hulley.
• They transferred to a different house but went to visit their former home and his smaller cousins.
• They were running around playing when Drax got stuck, broke, and carried the doggy door.

People who go shopping and find out they have grown two sizes bigger would understand Drax the chubby dog.

You can’t blame him.  He’s had a rough start at life but then things got better and he did not have to worry about food anymore.  Just a little too much, maybe.

You see, Drax used to be a stray going around the streets of Queensland, Australia. Drax’s mom, Charmaine Hulley says, “My sister found him outside her local supermarket a couple of years ago just laying there curled up. He looked skinny and uncared for. She put him in the car and he just froze with fear and wouldn’t look at anyone.”

She brought him home to where she was sharing the house with Hulley. They had four small dogs at that time.  Drax quickly blended in with the pack as he was placid, “most loving and happy and laid-back boy that just adores all other dogs,” according to Hulley.

When Hulley transferred house, he brought Drax along with her and gave him another dog brother to be with.

Years later, Drax went back to visit his smaller cousins at his former home.  They spent the day running around the yard.  When it was time to go through the doggy door, Drax got stuck and broke the door! The funny thing was, he carried the door without him having a clue.

Hulley said, “Dad came home early and saw half the doggy door panel on the ground and looked inside and Drax came wandering down the hallway very casually with it on him. I looked over and Drax was on the stairs looking at me … my mouth dropped.”

Good thing his mom and his cousins did not hold it against him. But it was an “Uh-oh” moment and a wake-up call for Drax and his parents.  Good boy Drax now has to go easy on the delicious meals at home.
