Brandon Blackstock, a devoted father and talent manager, died at 48 after bravely battling cancer for more than three years. His family said he passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones, and they asked for privacy as they grieve while celebrating his life.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” the family said in a statement. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

He was known for his work as a talent manager and held producer credits on The Kelly Clarkson Show and the television special Blake Shelton Live: It’s All About Tonight.

He shared two children with Clarkson — daughter River Rose (born 2014) and son Remington Alexander (born 2016) — as well as two older children, Seth and Savannah, from a previous marriage.

Clarkson paused her Las Vegas Studio Sessions dates to be fully present with their children, and the family’s love and memories are now center stage.

“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote on Instagram on Aug. 6.

“Brandon’s been my son forever it seems. Although he’s my stepson, I still love him like he’s my total — my blood, so I’m praying for ‘em both ‘cause I love ‘em both,”
