Couple of 66 yrs who spent 100 days apart reunite in tearjerking moment

• They were both moved to a care home, where the staff got to witness their heartwarming reunion.

George Bell, 89, and his wife Joyce, 87, hardly spent a night apart throughout their marriage of 66 years. So when the highschool sweethearts had to spend months apart due to COVID-19 regulations, they were counting the days when they would finally reunite with each other.

George had to be checked into a rehabilitation facility after a fall. Shortly after, Joyce broke her hip. But while they were both in rehab, they weren’t allowed to see each other due to safety protocols amid the pandemic.

After 100 days apart, Joyce was finally discharged. When she arrived at the Tollesby Hall Care Home in Middlesbrough, England, she finally got to reunite with her beloved.

The couple’s reunion was so touching that the entire medical staff were moved to tears!

Administrator Rachel White shared, “Everyone was crying in the room. Most of the staff present had to excuse themselves out of the room because it was really, really emotional to be a part of it.”

“When they were brought together you could see straight away just how much they were so in love with each other, even after 66 years together,” Rachel added. “It really moved all of our staff.”

Joyce later told the Daily Mail, “I can’t tell you how nice it was. I told him I’d always be there for him, no matter what. He held me tight and said he’d never leave me again for the rest of his life.”

George and Joyce still sleep in separate rooms for now, but they can see each other every day. It won’t take long before they are back together where they belong.
