  • Brody, a 5-year-old, 180-pound Great Dane, doesn’t seem to understand how big he is and still acts like a puppy.
  • One day, his curiosity was piqued by the large spiderweb decoration displayed on their porch for Halloween.
  • He stuck his face in it to investigate, but he kept getting entangled and took a long while to free himself!

Have you ever met a dog who just doesn’t quite understand how big he is? Brody is one. The 5-year-old, 180-pound Great Dane still acts like a puppy, which sometimes gets him caught up in a mess — for instance, in his mom’s Halloween decorations.

Brody’s neighbor, Barbara Nebenfuhr Hoffer, shared, “He’s this massive horse of a dog that my kids love. He knocks my 10-year-old down all the time. He’s very sweet and always in your face. He just wants to try and sit on your lap and slobber on you.”

Barbara was visiting one day when Brody came out to greet her.

It was then that his mom’s Halloween decorations caught his eye. He instantly investigated the large white spiderweb displayed all across the front of their porch. And he did his investigation by sticking his face directly into it.

Barbara was chatting with her neighbor when she noticed that Brody just kept sticking his face into the web.

“He just kept walking in it and pushing it,” she shared, which made her think how he would try to get out of it.

A smaller dog may have easily gotten away, but for big Brody, the harder he struggled, the more he got entangled.

“His whole face starts getting stuck in it, and he just kept walking through and trying to untangle himself,” Barbara shared.

The big dog tried walking all around the porch, but his weight was only pulling down the entire web.

A few minutes later, Brody was freed. But the web that took his mom hours to hang had been destroyed.

“Great Danes are very sweet, but they’re not necessarily known for their intelligence,” Barbara jested.

Fortunately for Brody, his mom couldn’t get mad at him for messing up her Halloween decorations. She had a good laugh out of it after all.
