  • Wilson is a winter-loving husky mix who prefers the cold.
  • Now that the temperatures drop below freezing in his neighborhood, he just loves staying in the front yard.
  • His dad even has to chase him around to get him back inside for the night!

Pets tend to prefer differing temperatures. While some love to seek sunlight for warmth, Wilson prefers the cold. He’s a winter-loving husky mix, after all.

His dad, Taylor Reed, told The Dodo that Wilson particularly hates hot weather.

Tayor shared, “During the summer, you can typically find him in the coldest spots of the house — laying on top of air vents or curled around the cold porcelain toilet.”

So, as the temperatures cool down in his Alabama neighborhood, Wilson couldn’t get any more excited to spend most of his time outdoors.

Even when the temperatures have dropped below freezing, Wilson just loves lounging in the front yard. He’s particularly thrilled when it rains or snows.

That posed some concerns in the online community, however, where critics are aplenty.

To make sure those online critics know that he’s not simply leaving Wilson out in the cold, Taylor shared a video of him struggling to get Wilson back inside.

He had to chase Wilson around in circles! And the pup really enjoyed a game of tag.

“I didn’t want people to think I was the bad dog-parent neighbor,” Taylor said.

Wilson is simply a winter-loving dog! And he can be quite stubborn about staying outside, that Taylor has to brace himself for the cold, too.

Since Taylor is working from home, he makes sure to keep asking Wilson to come back inside for some time together. Eventually, he realized that he has to “bundle up and embrace the cold and go outside with him.”

Nowadays, the only way he can convince the winter-loving pup to come inside is to bribe him with a car ride.

He said, “The only trick I have learned to get him inside is to jingle my car keys and say, ‘Let’s go for a ride.’”

The smart pup doesn’t always fall for it, though, especially if Taylor doesn’t follow through.

“So, before bed each night, I take him on a quick five-minute car ride down the street and back, letting him hang out the window for one last feel of the cold air before taking him to bed,” he shared.

Wilson is lucky his dad understands his winter-loving quirks!
