Deaf puppy tries her best to bark like her big sister [Video]

  • When the vet confirmed that newly adopted Reese is deaf, her family got to work to train and accommodate her.
  • One day, Reese’s big sister Roxx let out a friendly bark at her, so she tried to imitate her.
  • While Reese’s bark is silent most of the time, she does her best to let out some loud barks as well.

When Reese recently joined her new family earlier this month, Samantha Ramos and her husband noticed that something may be different about her. But Reese has a big personality and tons of energy, so she wouldn’t let that stop her from letting out a happy bark — be it silent or loud.

Samantha noticed early on that Reese wasn’t responding to anything she was saying.

“We suspected that she was deaf. I brought it up to the vet, and the vet confirmed it,” she shared.

So, they did their best to accommodate Reese’s needs and adjust their training approach.

Thankfully, Reese has her big sister Roxx to teach her all the other basics of being a dog, like how to bark.

The sisters were playing with each other one day when Roxx let out a friendly bark.

Reese copied her sister and responded with her own bark, but she didn’t make any sound.

While she doesn’t know if she’s making a sound or not, Reese does her best to imitate her big sister’s barking.

Reese’s barking may be silent most of the time, but it gets the job done.

She gets all the love she deserves, and she feels proud that her barking, whether silent or loud, gets attention.

According to Samantha, Reese is still learning a lot and is already improving.

She shared, “Now, she’s learned how to actually bark, but she goes back and forth between her silent and her loud bark.”

Good work, Reese!
