Dog never leaves toy’s side during its ‘surgery’

• Jamaica, a sweet pit bull, loves her soft octopus toy a lot.
• She usually chews it, which tore it off for many times.
• When her mom was sewing her toy, Jamaica was so worried that she never left its side!

Do you have that one thing that makes you forget the rest of the world? Well, this sweet pit bull has.

Jamaica loves everything soft, but among all the fluffy things in her doggo world, there’s one item in particular that she wouldn’t trade for anything in the world, despite how ultra-soft that may be.

It’s her bright pink octopus toy, which she chews endlessly.

“She loves everything that is soft and squishy,” Ana María Peñas del Águila, who rescued Jamaica as a puppy, told The Dodo. “A few months ago, my mother gave her the octopus and she loved it!”

The attention Jamaica gives her favorite toy has, of course, caused a little trouble. Her toy barely leaves her side, especially her mouth, and a quick wear-and-tear is quite expected because of it.

One day, the toy finally ripped open, and that got Jamaica’s heart broken, but not for long. Ana’s mom performed an emergency surgery on the tentacled toy.

The sweet pup was in her most worried face while her toy was underdoing the ‘surgery.’ She never left its side and was on guard like it was really a matter of life and death.

The operation was successful, and Jamaica continued doing what she loves doing with the toy, resulting in a series of wearing off and stitching!

“Her octopus has needed surgery, like, three or four times!” Ana said. “Each time, Jamaica waits patiently until it’s sewn. When she gets the toy back, she is very happy.”

Ana knows the time may come that the pup’s octopus toy will be ripped beyond repair, but until then, Jamaica continues to happily chew on it and promises to never leave its side no matter how many surgeries they will have to endure together.
