A delightful video has been making waves online, showcasing a blue heeler named Luka who seems to have picked up some rather feline habits.

In the clip, Luka is seen “making biscuits,” a kneading motion typically associated with cats. The video explains, “Luka has grown up with my cats and litters of foster kittens. Tonight I caught her making biscuits for the first time.”

Leah Butler, Luka’s dogsitter and the creator of the viral sensation, shared, “I’ve been watching her since she was adopted during COVID. She’s with me a few days a week, so she’s constantly around my cats and other foster kittens.”

Currently, Butler shares her home with four cats, but Luka has experienced living with as many as seven at once.

“We joke Luka is a cat, and my cats are dogs,” Butler said.

“My cats join us on walks, Luka prefers cat toys over dog toys, and they all eat, play, and cuddle together.”

This biscuit-making moment was a first for Butler, despite Luka’s well-known feline-like tendencies.

“I’d never noticed her doing this before, and it struck me as so unique because I’ve never heard of dogs doing this. We know cats are expert biscuit bakers, but rarely dogs.”

The term “making biscuits” refers to the kneading motion cats make with their paws, often compared to kneading dough. Although the reasons for this behavior aren’t fully understood, it’s believed to be a sign of contentment and comfort.
