Dogs’ Joint Effort Topples Christmas Tree That Blocks Their View

  • Jake and Rosie’s guard points are the two front windows.
  • A Christmas tree now occupies one of the windows and it blocks their view.
  • The Christmas tree came toppling down when a delivery guy came to drop packages.

Rescue dog siblings Jake and Rosie are the curious duo.  When they are not snuggling with their big brother Sarge, they are together playing, and finding ways to fortify their home.  They are big on protecting their family.  The windows in their house are their observation decks to the outside world.  It is their watch tower to whatever is happening in front of their house.  Nothing can harm their family not while under their watch.

As their mom Michelle Grandmaison said, “The two front windows are their guard points. They are the nosy neighbors. That sidewalk out front is THEIRS.”

This Christmas, as with the other years gone by, the family set-up the Christmas tree in one of the windows.  Since it did not come to harm the years before, they were thinking that this year would go without any mishap.

But then they did not anticipate the curious partners’ reaction to the delivery guy. Intruder spotted!

Grandmaison said, “They were both fighting to get space in the window to bark at the delivery guy, and it escalated when the guy had to come to the door with the second box. That’s when they lost track of where they were and down came the tree.”

When their mom saw the fallen tree when she got home, she checked the camera footage to know which dog toppled it down.  But then it was clear that it was not a solo effort but a joint shot.

According to Grandmaison, “I was relieved when the video showed they did not get hurt or eat anything, and now I just look back on it and laugh.”

The dogs and the tree just have to share the window space for now as there is no other spot to move the tree to.  For now, they have fortified the tree’s base by adding weight to it. And as Grandmaison said, “In the meantime, ‘no breakable ornaments’ will remain our policy.”

Just imagine Jake and Rosie saying, “We will try not to bring the tree down, Mom!”
