In an adorable turn of events, a dog’s intense focus on her toy being sewn back together has captured the hearts of millions on TikTok.

Lily, a mix of German shepherd and retriever, is seen in a video shared by her owner, Jessica, watching with bated breath as her beloved stuffed toy undergoes a “surgical” repair.

“Just supporting my dog as she waits to see if her favorite toy will make it through the surgery,” reads the caption layered over the clip.

Lily appeared visibly anxious, needing Jessica to hold her paw for support during the tense moment.

The video has become a viral sensation, racking up over 3.6 million views and more than 896,200 likes at the time of writing.

Jessica explains in the caption that her husband collects all of Lily’s damaged toys throughout the week and “puts them in the hospital.”

On weekends, he diligently sews them back together, preparing them for another week of playful destruction.

Despite the routine nature of these repairs, Lily’s concern never seems to wane.

Jessica humorously noted that Lily sits there “every time like please dad, save him.”

Dogs often explore their world through sniffing and chewing, which can sometimes lead to unintended damage to household items.

Chewing might be due to teething, scavenging for food, or satisfying a natural urge to gnaw.

It could also signal anxiety, particularly in dogs with separation anxiety, or simply be a way to attract attention.

Encouraging dogs to chew on their toys and discouraging them from gnawing on other items is recommended.

Supervision and removing access to anything they shouldn’t chew, except their toys, can be helpful.

Since its posting on March 19, Lily’s video has prompted over 480 comments, with viewers eagerly awaiting news on the toy’s fate.

One commenter humorously remarked, “patient’s families aren’t supposed to watch from the gallery.”

Another suggested, “Take her to the cafeteria to get a coffee, she should get a little time away to collect herself before the Dr gives her the news.”

Yet another quipped, “She needs an emotional support dog.”

A final comment added, “It’s gonna be fixed and then destroyed again 5 minutes later.”
