When people celebrate your success, the joy just multiplies.

This must be the feeling of Yanet Viamontes Lopez, a cafeteria manager at Deer Creek Prairie Vale Elementary School, when the students made a surprise celebration for her as she recently passed her US citizenship test.

PEOPLE (The TV Show!) featured the sweet moment, where dozens of students were seen being so giddy about Yanet’s achievement, which was actually a dream come true for her.

“A HUGE SHOUTOUT to Ms. Yanet, our sweet cafeteria manager, who passed her test to become a US citizen!!! HOORAY!!!” a message on the school’s Facebook page said.

Photos of Yanet waving a miniature American flag and hugging other staff members also surfaced on social media.

Another post bragged about how Yanet cheerfully greets everyone “good morning, pretty ladies” every day, always starting “the day with a positive message.”

“I am so excited for Ms. Yanet and the realization of one of her dreams in passing her citizenship test!” the post continued. “We laughed that she would know more than those of us born in the U.S.A. I am honored to work with one best US citizens I know!”

KWTV said that Yanet, who is originally from Cuba, has dreamed of becoming a US citizen since she was 14. She waited for five years after receiving her green card before applying for citizenship.

“You have to learn everything about the constitution, this great country, and that’s all,” she told the outlet. “You feel really good when you do it.”

One of the things she is most excited about from gaining her citizenship is the chance to practice her right to vote in future elections.

“I have never before voted in my life,” she said, “so this is really important for me because the vote is democracy.”

We also celebrate with you, Yanet!
