Along the I-5 in Southern California, an enchanting display of blooms awaits visitors, stretching across 55 acres of the landscape.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch have been a beloved sight for decades, showcasing a dazzling array of ranunculus flowers.

These flowers, also known as Persian buttercups, originate from Turkey and have been cultivated along the California coast for a century.

Thanks to the dedication of pioneer Edwin Frazee and other local growers, every color of the rainbow now graces this floral masterpiece.

The fields open each year in March, inviting visitors to revel in their beauty for five to seven weeks.

Admission is $27 for adults, with the fields open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Beyond the blooms, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including a “sweet pea” maze, tractor rides, and a sea of sunflowers.

Other attractions include a giant American flag made from petunias, greenhouse displays of orchids and poinsettias, a sculpture garden, and a butterfly encounter area for children.

Tickets must be purchased online, as there are no on-site sales, and reentry is not permitted.

The final day to visit is May 11th, aligning perfectly with Mother’s Day, offering a delightful outing opportunity.

Share this great day-trip idea with someone special and make lasting memories amidst the blooms.
