One of his family members, Layla Tucker, shared how Ricky Ray “thinks he’s a Great Dane.”

According to Layla, “He’s very protective of our mom and will charge any dog that gets close to her, especially when they’re in bed,” despite having only “three teeth total” and weighing about 4 pounds. Still, he’s “very timid with strangers” while being “very loving and cuddly with family.”

During a recent get-together, Layla’s family was celebrating some birthdays in another house for a little vacation. Because the house was an unfamiliar space and had big iron gates with gaps in between them, they were worried that their two tiny Chihuahuas, Ricky Ray and Petrie, could get lost.

So they thought up a clever way to keep track of both of them.

They tied balloons around the two tiny dogs!

That way, they could always tell where Ricky Ray and Petrie were just by looking for the bobbing balloons.

Layla said that the two pups “didn’t seem to mind the balloons at all,” since they weren’t moving too far or too fast.

The balloons kept them safe, since they kept the tiny dogs from getting stepped on and alerted everyone when they strayed too far. Plus, they certainly matched the occasion!

Layla shared that the adorable life hack is “great for parties” that have kids or older people who may accidentally step on tiny dogs. It’s certainly a great tracker for dogs who love to wander about.
