Five Cute Ducklings Follow Their Mama Inside A Library [Video]

• A mama duck and her five adorable ducklings had to be ushered out of a university library after waddling their way in.
• The duck family was “totally calm and unflustered” as they wandered around the atrium of the University of Nottingham’s George Green Library.
• The library’s unexpected guests made their way in through an open door as seen in the footage that has just been shared by the university.

A family of ducks had to be ushered out of a university library after waddling their way in from the street. Five cute ducklings followed their mama through an open door and under the security gates into the University of Nottingham’s George Green Library. 

When a librarian saw the ducks, they ushered the animals back out of the library so they could return to their pond.

A video clip that was recently shared by the library shows the ducks waddling around the atrium before being ushered under the security barrier to make their exit.

They were ushered out and not shooed away.

Emma Halford-Busby, from the University of Nottingham Libraries, said: ‘The library was quiet at the time.

‘It had been very hot that week, so we had left our doors open for some extra air movement.

“The ducks wandered in through one of our entrances.”

Emma said the ducks walked around the atrium for a while, with the mom in front and the ducklings in a line behind her. The mama duck was totally calm and unflustered.

As they walked towards the library’s other entrance, one of the staff gently ushered them through the gates and back outside.

“You often come across ducks in seemingly odd places around campus, but that was definitely the oddest place I’ve seen them. It did bring some excitement into an otherwise peaceful evening at George Green Library,” said Emma.

The clip was recently shared on social media by the university following the visit of the ducks back in July.

Commenting on social media, one student said: ‘That is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.’

One person wrote: ‘They can they just ‘duck’ under the underneath the barriers…’

Another added: ‘This is the most adorable thing I’ve looked at this year.’
