Her sweet gestures toward her fellow dogs at doggy daycare were first shared on TikTok last March 2020 by user alanahlorraine, who was working at the daycare at that time.

That video has since been reposted to the Reddit page r/aww, giving everyone another chance to see the friendly dog in action.

In the video below, Ruby can be seen petting several dogs in an attempt to make new friends. She pets a golden retriever, another GSP, a fluffy dog, and a hairy black dog. She definitely doesn’t choose who she gives pets to — she wants to be friends with them all!

While no one can offer the exact reason why Ruby keeps petting other dogs, we can guess that she just wants to get their attention and befriend them.

Perhaps she has picked up on the pets she receives at home and wants to share the same warm feeling she gets by doing the same to other dogs?

One comment on Reddit guessed, “Occasionally the dog is mimicking a human action, but usually when you see this the dog is trying to see if the other dog wants to play! It’s similar to them doing a play bow, or shoving their butt in another dog’s face. It’s so interesting to me to see dogs communicate like this and learn about each other!”

The video also seems to be a good way to advertise the perks of doggy daycare.

With more pet owners staying at home, trips to the doggy daycare have become less frequent. But visits like this can be good for friendly and active dogs like Ruby, who loves spending time with other dogs.
