Friendly Dog Receives Petting Only From Those Who Sanitize Their Hands Before And After

• Sparkle loves to socialize and meet new friends in the neighborhood.
• But since social distancing is in place, her parents found a way for passersby to still continue petting her as long as they sanitize.
• They put signs outside their home telling people to use the hand sanitizer provided before and after playing with Sparkle.

Seeing cute and friendly dogs on the neighborhood street and not petting them feels like a sin. But with the imposed social distancing these days, it’s sad to see pups go receiving the attention they deserve.

Fortunately for Sparkle, a beagle mix, her parents have found a way to work around it and still socialize with everyone while keeping each other safe.

The adorable pup loves to spend time on the porch of their home saying “hi” to passersby. That’s why her parents came up with special signs that let their neighbors know it’s okay to pet the sweet rescue pup provided that they sanitize their hands before doing so and after. On top of the signs a bottle of hand sanitizer was put in place and everyone is loving it!

“A few days ago, my boyfriend and I decided to go on a walk,”  a distant neighbor, Jennie Ross, told The Dodo. “We were about a mile or so from where we live, and my boyfriend gasped and told me to look to my right. We saw the sign and saw Sparkle on the front steps.”

“I thought she was just the sweetest thing,” Jennie added. “She was completely relaxed and was obviously having a wonderful day in the sun! The hand sanitizer and sign were a great idea. We love a socially responsible gal!”

Written on the displayed signs is Sparkle’s self introduction telling people how she loves to meet them and that if they have further questions she has her parents’ contact number in her tag.

Unable to resist, Jennie took photos of Sparkle and the signs and shared it on Facebook. Soon enough, people are clamoring in the comment section wanting to pet Sparkle too. One commenter even recognized Sparkle and said she too was unable to resist giving Sparkle some petting.

“Glad she’s getting the recognition she deserves,” one Facebook user wrote. “She’s the cutest, I’d always stop to pet her and then end up sitting on the sidewalk for like 15 minutes. She loves attention and is the sweetest thing.”

We certainly love this brilliant idea! Kudos to her parents!
