There’s something truly special about the bond between grandparents and their grandchildren, and it seems this extends to the furry members of the family too. A recent TikTok video has captured the internet’s attention, showcasing what happens when a dog spends time at “grandma’s daycare.”

In the video, shared by Vanessa on the account @princess.poppyyy, her boxer, Poppy, is seen indulging in a delightful moment with Grandma.

Vanessa returned from errands to find Poppy and Grandma cozily sharing a piece of apple pie in bed.

Vanessa had always suspected that Poppy was spoiled at Grandma’s, but she hadn’t realized the extent of the pampering. Poppy seemed well-versed in the routine: wearing a napkin around her neck and waiting patiently as Grandma took a bite and then shared a piece with her using the same fork.

When Vanessa attempted to interject, saying “Excuse me,” Grandma promptly replied, “No, excuse you. We’re having pie.”

Despite Vanessa’s efforts to join in, Poppy and Grandma continued their bonding session. Grandma even engaged Poppy in a conversation about the pie’s recipe, noting it had too many apples and not enough crust. Poppy, unfazed, licked the plate clean.

“When I saw this, I wasn’t surprised one bit!” Vanessa shared, explaining that this was typical behavior during Poppy’s visits to Grandma’s house.

“Although Poppy loves going to grandma’s for naughtiness, she does love to come home to mom and dad at night!” Vanessa added.

The video has amassed over 1.4 million views, 123,400 likes, and nearly 3,000 comments, sparking a conversation about what doggy daycare should entail. One viewer commented, “This is the level of dog sitting that I expect,” while another noted, “Grandma’s house, grandma’s rules. How cute.”

The video also sparked a debate about sharing utensils with pets. One person remarked, “If you’re not sharing cutlery with your dog you’re not living life correctly,” while another disagreed, saying, “Sharing is caring, but not the utensil.”
