A British adventurer who has walked around the world on a 28-year hike has finally reunited with his tearful mother. Karl Bushby arrived back in his hometown of Hull after setting off on a 31,000-mile around-the-world trip in 1998 with the goal of returning home entirely on foot.

The former paratrooper’s determination to complete the epic journey never wavered through nearly three decades of walking. His mother waited patiently at home, believing in her son’s extraordinary quest to return under his own power.

“It has been the most emotional experience of my life,” Karl shared upon finally embracing his mother.

The reunion brought together years of dedication, miles of memories, and the unbreakable bond between mother and son. Neighbors and well-wishers gathered to celebrate this remarkable achievement that proves dreams can come true with patience and perseverance.
