Hero Cop Lifts 3,500-pound SUV off Trapped Woman [Video]

• A police officer is once again being hailed a hero after he lifted off a 3,500-pound SUV to free the woman trapped underneath.
• Deputy Jon Holt humbly said that he simply lifted part of the vehicle enough to free the woman.
• Last March, the deputy officer also saved two people from a burning house.

Earlier this month, Deputy Jon Holt made a heroic rescue of a woman trapped under an overturned vehicle. His bodycam captured how he single-handedly lifted off the 3,500-pound SUV to free the woman.

When the hero cop came to the scene of the accident in Gloucester County, the trapped woman’s head was pinned under the overturned vehicle’s sunroof while her young son crouched nearby and tried to comfort her.

Deputy Holt initially reported into his police radio, “She’s trapped under the vehicle. I can’t get it off.”

The woman struggled to breathe while her son pleaded for help.

The officer tried to comfort the boy and got him to safety. Then, as his bodycam went black, he can be heard grunting at the top of his lungs as he single-handedly lifted the overturned vehicle.

The humble officer told Inside Edition, “All I did was just put my shoulder into the door frame and brace and then just stood up. And that was enough to free her.”

The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, which released the body camera footage on Tuesday, surmised that seeing the trauma of the pinned woman’s child put the deputy into overdrive.

The sheriff’s office stated, “Through sheer will and determination due to fearing the female may succumb to her circumstance in front of her panic-stricken child, Deputy J. Holt took quick action and was able to physically lift the vehicle up enough for the driver to maneuver her head out to safety.”

It turns out that it’s not the first heroic act for Holt.

Last March, he rescued two people from a burning house. His heroism had earned him the regional “Top Cop Award.”

While everyone hails him as a real-life Superman, the humble hero says he’s “just an average cop.”
