Sue Davis, 67 and deaf, shares her home in England with her black cocker spaniel hearing dog, Arlo.

One slippery day, Sue took a nasty tumble on black ice and couldn’t get up.

Arlo sensed her distress right away, lying across her legs while barking furiously for assistance.

“He’s my comfort blanket.”

“I know I’m safe with him.”

Sue shared.

“If it hadn’t been for Arlo, I don’t know what I’d have done.”

“There was no one else around.”

“I would’ve had to crawl to get help.”

“I went down with a bang. I felt dizzy and light-headed.”

“And I couldn’t get up. I just started crying.”

“He knew something was wrong.”

She added.

Sue lost her hearing in her 40s and was matched with Arlo in 2021 through Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

“Having Arlo is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

“He loves me unconditionally.”

“And I love him unconditionally.”

Sue said.

“I couldn’t ask for a better friend.”
