- Amazon driver Angeline Starkey was working when she noticed smoke coming from a Florida home.
- Angeline called 911 and managed to save three puppies from the burning home.
- The three puppies were revived by the Columbia County Fire Rescue and are now recovering in a pet hospital.
While on her way to deliver items, an Amazon driver noticed smoke coming from one Florida home.Β She immediately called 911.
Her quick action saved three Boston terrier puppies and the house.
In the Columbia County Fire Rescue (CCFR) post on Facebook, they shared images of the three pups being revived from smoke inhalation from a house fire. “Since the homeowner was not at home at the time, she saved the home and puppies’ lives!”

The driver, who was identified as Angeline Starkey, wrote in the comments that she was “just happy I got there when I did.”
The dog and homeowner Lauren Sutton thanked the driver and well-wishers for all the prayers, kind words and donations. She said, “As you can imagine, I am in a whirlwind right now trying to figure things out so I apologize for not responding to your individual messages. Please know they are seen, they are appreciated and they mean the world to me.”
According to Sutton’s mom Lisa Dunn, the dogs are still in the hospital but are doing well.

She wrote, “One of the rescues has helped tremendously by paying the deductibles for their care at the hospital.β She added, “They will need to be there another 48 hours most likely. They had significant lung damage but seem to be stabilizing.”
Angeline is not the only Amazon driver who has saved lives while at work.
In March, a local delivery driver found a war vet having an aneurysm and called 911. The woman stopped to help and flagged down neighbors. The heroic deed was discovered on CCTV footage.

Another Florida Amazon driver rescued an elderly man from a house on fire in 2020. Sean Campbell, 23, heard screams while on a routine delivery. He dropped his packages and ran to help the elderly man who was stuck inside the burning home. Sean ripped the front door open to help the man escape.
Thank you, heroes!Β
