Chihuahua couple, Peanut and Cashew, got married in an adorable ceremony that was specially organized to celebrate their love and journey together.

Peanut, 9, and Cashew, 3, were both surrendered to the San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) in April 2022 after their families could no longer take care of them.

After they both got their respective dental surgeries, they instantly bonded while they recovered at the SAHS medical building.

The medical staff loved watching their relationship blossom, so they organized a beautiful ceremony in the hopes of attracting potential adopters.

Lucia Almanza, a Public Relations Associate at SAHS, shared, “The ceremony was to celebrate their love and recovery journey. Their small, intimate wedding day was shared with staff, volunteers, and our closest friends. The event included a beautiful walk down the aisle, bubbles, music, and cake, of course!”

Lucia said that the chapel was constructed by volunteers, and a bubble machine was added to provide some fun for the pups.

Peanut and Cashew are both available for individual adoption, but Lucia and the staff hope that they get adopted together so they can continue their honeymoon together forever.

The SAHS was founded in 1952 as a non-profit, no-kill organization. Its shelters have been medically treating and rehabilitating thousands of dogs and cats since then. These adorable furballs remain in their care until they find their forever families.
