Jason Sudeikis Inspires Hope By Helping Amputees

Twenty years ago, Jason Sudeikis supported his friend Billy Brimblecom after cancer led to the loss of Billy’s leg, helping him raise the funds needed for a prosthetic limb. What began as a backyard barbecue fundraiser turned into Thundergong!, an annual variety show supporting amputees nationwide.

Since its launch in 2017, Thundergong! has helped more than 2,000 people regain mobility and self-assurance through the Steps of Faith Foundation.

“I think a big reason that something like Steps of Faith is important is because you get people an arm that they lost through some tragedy or a leg that they lost—you’re giving them their confidence back,” Sudeikis said.

The 2025 Thundergong! event raised over $1.1 million, pushing the total to more than $5 million for people in need of prosthetics.

Brimblecom, now the CEO of the Steps of Faith Foundation, once found his calling after connecting with another amputee and inspiring hope.

“I don’t even remember what I said,” Brimblecom recalled. “But I remember how I felt, and how he was looking at me. I could see the excitement and the hope in his eyes. And I said, ‘Gosh, I wish that could be my job.’”

Today, Brimblecom leads the foundation, helping others reclaim independence and optimism.

“It’s about hope, confidence, surviving, and thriving,” Brimblecom said.

For Sudeikis, giving back has become a lasting joy shared with others.

“To do something that you love with people you love, to help people you may never meet,” he said, “I wish it on everyone.”
