Brendan Banfield was found guilty of two counts of aggravated murder, firearm use in a felony, and child endangerment by a Virginia jury after several days of careful deliberation. “I did not want to shoot him,” Banfield said of the incident. “Um, I wanted him to let her go.”

Banfield expressed disbelief over the circumstances, telling the court he never knew Ryan before or had knowledge of the platform involved. He also said his wife had interests they discussed but maintained he would never hurt her.
