Meet Jake Stitt. At 17 years old, he’s considered a local celebrity. He has cerebral palsy and is simply a joy to be around.

His story was shared by actor Michael Abbott Jr. with local news outlet WJHL.

Abbott shared that Jake sits outside their house in Morristown, Tennessee, with “a sign that says ‘honk if you’re happy.’ He’s an incredible young man.”

Jake’s positive attitude is what inspired the community — and Justin Timberlake — to give him a wonderful Thanksgiving gift.

His dad, Tim, has been raising funds to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van. They have since raised more than $35,000, but after Timberlake purchased the van for them, they can keep the funds for Jake’s needs!

Jake considered the gift “a blessing.”

Timberlake, who is also originally from Tennessee, spoke to the father and son over Zoom.

“It’s my pleasure. Like I said, I heard there was a goal to try to get this van before Thanksgiving. I heard your story and saw a little news clip about it,” he said. “I was so moved that I want you guys to have this van. I’m going to cover all the costs. I want you guys to have a great holiday. You inspire me, Jake.”

Timberlake added, “The honk if you’re happy thing. You got to keep that going. You guys gotta use this van to honk all over town now.”

Tim shared that the van will help both of them. The military veteran told WJHL that his back has been in worse shape from carrying his son onto a regular van.

“It’s going to make our lives so much easier because of the independence he’s going to have as a young man now,” Tim added.
