Kitten Watches his Bunny Friend and Copies his Hops [Video]

In this video posted by TikTok user p_malina on Oct. 19, a kitten can be seen watching his bunny friend hop along before proceeding to do the same hops himself. We believe this kitten thinks he’s also part rabbit!

The video, appropriately captioned “When your kitten thinks he’s a rabbit too”, has since been viewed over 21.1 million times.

At the start of the clip, we can see the kitten watching closely as his bunny friend uses his hind legs to push off and land on his front feet to make a perfect rabbit hop.

The clever kitten has lifted one front paw in anticipation as he takes mental notes of his friend’s actions.

In the next scene, the bunny is once again shown making his hops, but now followed by the kitten, who has copied his actions.

The kitten successfully copies his bunny friend by making several successful hops of his own!

Although we may never know why the kitten copied the bunny, the bunny’s actions may have influenced the kitten to act similarly. According to an article from Inverse, a psychological phenomenon called the social learning theory explains that we are sometimes influenced by other people when making actions or decisions.

Whatever the reason, this adorable hopping pair have earned a place in our hearts.
