The mailman usually gets mixed reactions from dogs. Some dogs bark at them, some dogs run away from them, and some dogs run up to them. Little Frannie, meanwhile, considers the mailman’s visit the highlight of her day.

Frannie has made it a point to wait by the door every morning for the arrival of the white mail truck. The moment she spots it, her whole body immediately bursts with excitement.

Frannie’s mom, Lisa Laskey, said that the now 5-month-old longhaired Chihuahua has fallen in love with the mailman at first sight.

“It’s a real, emotional connection,” Lisa shared.

It was just the day after Lisa got Frannie that the eventful day occurred.

Lisa went out to receive the mail while carrying little Frannie in her arms. When she stopped to chat with mailman Dan, she asked if he would like to hold Frannie.

“He got out of his truck and made all these googly faces at her and let her kiss him. And ever since that day, it’s like, now this must happen every day,” Lisa shared.

Lisa said that Dan has become beloved in the neighborhood. He’s described as “the kindest mailman ever,” who’s always timely and diligent when it comes to his job.

So it wasn’t a surprise that Frannie instantly grew fond of Dan.

Still, she can’t help but be touched by their sweet interactions.

Frannie has developed her daily routine. She would sit by the door and wait for the truck. She would then let out a little yap to let her mom know it’s here. Lisa has to be ready for her so she grabs her shoes and throws on Frannie’s leash.

“As soon as he steps up to our mailbox, I’ll put her on the driveway and just let her rip,” Lisa shared. “She runs down the whole driveway until she gets to him … and he’s just laughing — this just makes his day.”

This routine with Dan is always the highlight of Frannie’s day, so she sorely misses him whenever he’s on vacation.

“I think at this point he’s happier to see her than she is to see him on some days. It’s really turned into a mutual friendship and special connection,” Lisa shared.
