London Marathon Runners Go Beyond the Finish Line for Children

The London Marathon transforms the capital into a corridor of immense kindness while raising millions for vital causes. This weekend, tens of thousands of runners will conquer the streets to fund research and support systems that change lives.

Television presenter Evie Pickerill is among those running for Children with Cancer UK to increase awareness for pediatric patients. She aims to highlight the bravery of families navigating the long journey of treatment and recovery.

“I’ve seen first-hand what the children go through, but also what their families go through too,” says Pickerill.

The charity focuses 25% of its funding on welfare support, including travel grants and holiday cottages for respite. These initiatives allow siblings and parents a chance to rest and recover during challenging times.

“If you can have some escape and actually allow children to feel like children, that is so important in their journey,” Pickerill adds.
