Brentford FC’s home stadium now serves burgers made with wild British venison, delighting match-goers and benefiting the planet. Levy UK, the group managing the stadium’s hospitality, reports that the change could cut supply chain carbon emissions by as much as 85%.

Venison burgers were a hit at the Women’s Rugby World Cup Final last September, where 5,500 were sold at Twickenham in London. Brentford’s Head of Sustainability and Community, James Beale, shared,

“Our fans really like it. It’s more popular than the beef burger from last year.”

Levy UK is rolling out similar initiatives at other major venues like London’s O2 Arena and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, also crafting condiments from surplus or misshapen vegetables. With around 2 million wild deer roaming the UK, harvesting venison supports both local communities and environmental balance.

Venison offers a healthier, protein-rich alternative to beef, while also helping to control deer populations and support rural economies. Many see this flavorful menu update as a win for health, sustainability, and fans alike.
