Love and Care Transforms Dog Found Tied Up Outside Apartment Building

• A neighbor found an abandoned puppy tied to a post without food and water.
• She was rescued and given love and care by her new family and dog sister.
• The puppy has now changed into a happy dog and been named Bonnie Blue.

A puppy was abandoned tied to a post with a cat collar with no provision of food and water.  Only a neighbor dad’s unusual request to his daughter Courtney Bowles, to rescue the puppy saved it from more neglect.

Courtney Bowles did not hesitate and found the scared, severely underweight puppy covered in garbage and her own poop. “She had gone through a trash bag she could reach because she was so hungry,” said Bowles.

With a little petting and gentle coaxing with a treat, the scared puppy started become a different dog.  Bowles said, “I unhooked her from the leash and as soon as I sat her in the car, she started wagging her tail.”

As soon as she was brought to Bowles home, she was given a rinse in the bath tub.  She was so dirty that the water turned brown.  She was also thirsty and started lapping the water.  Bowles said, “She had probably never experienced that much water in her entire life. Ever since then, whenever she’s scared, mostly during storms or when she hears loud noises, she will run and hop in the bathtub.”

Bowles thought that the bath tub was probably the first place that the puppy felt safe and rescued.

With the care that she has been getting, the puppy became more confident enough to warm up to Bowle’s another dog, Millie and even got a new name— Bonnie Blue.

Bonnie still had to recover from the neglect and Millie would slow down for Bonnie whenever she could not run or jump up. Millie even knocked off toys so Bonnie could get to them.

As Bonnie blossomed with the family’s love and Millie’s support, she has become energetic and playful.  Bowles said, “She’s a total snuggle bug too, though. She loves to be with people and to chew on anything she can find.” 

And Bonnie shows her mom every day that she is grateful for her second chance at life.

Bowles in return says, “She has brought so much joy into our lives. It’s hard to believe such a loving dog came from such bad beginnings. She has truly taught me what it means to forgive and grow.”
