Lovestruck Pup Kept Looking For Neighbor’s Cat So Mom Wrote Them A Letter

Pets have a knack for looking out windows and chilling by the windowsill, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise when they find something — or someone — that would get all of their attention. One dog grew lovestruck with a neighbor’s cat and started looking for his feline neighbor every day.

The cat’s mom started placing potted plants on the cat’s favorite spot near the windowsill, however, obstructing the pup’s view.

When the dog’s mom noticed him moping around the house, it wasn’t long before she realized the reason for his sadness. So, she decided to write her neighbor a letter to let her know about the heartbreaking situation. She then taped the note on her neighbor’s window and hoped for the best.

She prefaced the letter with an acknowledgment that the situation may seem “ridiculous.” She certainly wasn’t sure whether her neighbor would heed her request or ignore it. Still, she thought it worth a try to help her lovestruck dog.

She wrote, “I thought you should know that my dog (who lives next door with me) is madly in love with your cat… and has been for probably 6 months! Three times a day, he puts his paws on our railing to look at him/her in your windowsill.”

She added, “Now that you have potted plants there, he is heartbroken… but keeps looking for your cat every time. Maybe your plants could switch to a different window??!”

She signed, “From your neighbor and her adoring dog.”

As luck would have it, the cat’s mom responded positively. Not only did she move the plants away from the window, but she also left a note of her own.

The note was simple and to the point: “For True Love!”

There is no update yet if their relationship blossomed into something more, but at least we know that the lovestruck dog can continue to stare wistfully at his feline neighbor.

We hope they can meet and take walks together, or perhaps even visit each other! Their parents seem to be encouraging of their love.
